Dapol in pictures

Post by Admin on Sat Feb 16, 2013 11:06 pm

Dapol were often criticized for their designs of Doctor Who, but when they were produced they were the first proper Doctor Who action figures we had.

Dapol Earthshock Cybermen, custom Cybercontroller from Attack of the Cybermen and resin Tomb Cybermen.

2nd Doctor figure also from resin.

Dapol Playset with the 7th Doctor, Mel and green K-9. Console battery operated and time rotor moves up and down.

They look pretty good up close! Never did get the feel for these but at second glance, they look really nice.

I had a whole bunch back in the day, but left them all behind in a box when I left for China.

Watching Dr Forever on the Aztecs s/e, this maybe the reason why the Dapol console is only 5 sides. Apparently Dapol rang JNT and said that the photo they had looked like its only got five sides, JNT replied that if that's what it looks like then that's what it is.

Oddly enough I don't have many of these in my collection other than the odd signed example. Seeing that there are many for sale on eBay but I might start getting into collecting them as part of my vintage items. Smile
