SDCC Specials

Post by Dalek on Mon 10 Jul 2017 - 11:52

Titan have released the plot details and covers for this year's SDCC special, 'The Last Action Figure'. If you can't make it to SDCC, the special usually makes it to FP, and is later republished in Tales from the TARDIS and one of the graphic novels.

When the Doctor and Bill get entangled in the hunt for an impossibly-rare action figure, their journey takes them all across time and space! Written by Richard Dinnick, this show-debut comic comes with two amazing covers to choose from, the Twelfth Doctor (cover A) and companion Bill Potts (cover B) both by Alice X. Zhang!

For those uninitiated in the world of Titan, here are the previous two years' specials, 'Selfie' (2015) and 'The Long Con' (2016). The specials normally have some sort of bonus material too-2015's was a preview of 'Four Doctors', whilst 2016's was a collection of prologues for 'Supremacy of the Cybermen'.
To celebrate Doctor Who stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman attending this year’s SDCC, Titan is releasing an exclusive short story edition of the Twelfth Doctor comic. Set at SDCC, the Twelfth Doctor and Clara must battle an alien threat among the con-goers and cosplayers! Written by George Mann and Cavan Scott, and illustrated by Rachael Stott, this SDCC edition comes with two amazing covers from fan-favorite artist Alice X. Zhang!

Brand new convention special story! Previously only available at Titan’s comic convention appearances this year, this is your chance to take home the all-new short “The Long Con,” featuring the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth Doctors under brand-new covers from Alice X. Zhang and Simon Fraser! Plus, the special also reprints all nine Supremacy of the Cybermen back-ups by George Mann, Cavan Scott and a cavalcade of amazing creators including Blair Shedd, Lee Sullivan, Dan Boultwood, Andrew Pepoy, Simon Myers, and many more, perfect for the dedicated signature hunter!

Many people are getting confused about "The Last Action Figure". Some have been mislead into believing this is a release of a Bill Potts figure and it will be the last CO one. I want to make it clear that it is just the title of the comic, it is nothing to do with CO.
