Sleep No More questions

Post by LastOfTheSonics on Wed 29 Mar 2017 - 18:44

I am in the minority of people who actually like this episode. But there are still a few glaring errors.

-How is the song "Mr. Sandman" used if this story is set in the 38th century and that song was released in the 20th? Think about it, we don't know of any songs from over ten centuries ago!
-If the whole point of the message was an encoded signal to make everyone a Sandman, then isn't this rather important? As in extinction-level? Obviously something went wrong because people are still walking about in the further future (Parting of the Ways), but what stopped Rassmussen then?
-I get that Morpheus creates a whole load of sleep dust, but would it really be enough to create an entire bipedal creature?
-Shouldn't Clara turn into a Sandman? After all, she used Morpheus.
-How did the Sandman that killed Deep-Ando get in the room anyway? Shouldn't it have either been visible in the reflection or when he initially entered the room? There's no possible way it could've got in there.
-How exactly did Rassmussen fit inside the Sandman anyway?
-Why was a rescue team of only four sent up if Le Verrier station was significant to Triton?
-What even happens to Triton after the lab comes crashing down?

Regarding the first one, they didn't have the recording equipment we have now ten centuries ago to be fair, so I imagine downloads last forever-what a horrible thought to have Justin Bieber's music surviving into the 3700s.

Honestly, I'd rather become a sandman than listen to Justin bloody Bieber in the 38th century.

There's plenty of old songs we are still aware of today. There's some dating back thousands of years in fact that still exist in fairly good condition all things considered. You are looking at a company using a name like "Morpheus", they are obviously aware of ancient history. You are also well into the early Earth devastation period, they'll probably be concerned still with clinging to "ancient" Earth history as the planet's population continues to collapse and get out of control.

I still really want to know how Deep-Ando didn't see or hear the Sandman that killed him, and why we didn't either.
