In memory, the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton (died 1987 aged 67) would be 97 today. May he RIP.

"there are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things. Things which act against everything that we believe in. They must be fought." - 2nd Doctor, the Moonbase

Such an underrated doctor and one of my favourites. May he RIP.

He was a great Doctor, and I think a lot of the time, people forget we wouldn't be where we are today without his performance. May he RIP.

I would not say underrated, he is a favotie of the other actors who played the role. Matt Smith is a fan and of Tomb of the Cybermen. What is sad is a lot of his work in Doctor Who is missing.

I would also argue he is the most important Doctor. Yes, Hartnell was the first, but the idea of "renewal" was a farfetched idea, and if it received backlash, perhaps it would put Patrick Troughton in a bad light. Without him, the show may not have evolved the way it did.

Sadly he died three days (28th March) after his 67th birthday.

I knew he died shortly after his birthday, but not three days. Again, may he RIP.
